Your numbers

How it works

Dimensional weight = length × width × height ÷ carrier divisor. Billable weight is usually the greater of actual and dimensional weight.

The calculator runs locally in your browser. Values are estimates and are not sent to Margin Manifest.

Before you decide

Carriers use different divisors, rounding, service rules, and oversized-package charges. Enter the divisor from your carrier contract.

Working note

Make the estimate useful.

Carriers compare the parcel's physical weight with a size-based dimensional weight. The larger value is commonly used as the starting point for billing. Reducing empty space can therefore save more than reducing a small amount of product weight.

Questions from the desk

Dimensional Weight Calculator FAQ

What dimensional divisor should I use?

Use the divisor stated by the carrier for your service and contract. Common examples are only defaults and may not match your rate card.

Why is dimensional weight higher than actual weight?

The parcel occupies more vehicle or aircraft space than its scale weight would suggest, so the carrier prices it by volume.

Should I round dimensions first?

Follow the carrier's measurement and rounding rules. Rounding each dimension can produce a different result from rounding only the final weight.

Keep checking the whole margin.
